Two steel half-clutches are set on a defected part of a pipe with the spacing gap of 30-40 mm and get welded together.
Side clearance between a sleeve and a pipe is encapsulated with quick-hardening compound.
The space between a sleeve and a pipe is filled with the composite material setting within 24 hours , which forms a solid
construction with the sleeve stopping the deformation of a defected part of a pipeline.
A construction repaired by this way relieves a pipe in a defected place and extends its strength and durability for at least 30 years. Composite-sleeve technology is universal and is applicable for the repair of defects of various types:
• losses of metal of corrosion and mechanical origin of any extent and depth up to 90% of the wall thickness;
• bundles, including with access to the surface and adjacent to welded seams;
• defects in welded seams (longitudinal, circular, spiral) such as non-welds, undercuts, edge misalignment and others;
• dents, corrugations, including in combination with risks and corrosion;
• cracks in the main material and welds (length up to the pipe radius and depth up to 70% of the pipe wall thickness).
The strength and durability of composite - muft repair structures is confirmed by field tests on domestic pipes with real and
artificial defects. The tests were carried out according to a program coordinated with the Gostehnadzor

General purpose:
The main function of the sleeve is elimination of the impact of various defects on pipeline operation and prevention of their
growth. A sleeve set on a pipe uniformly distributes local stresses arising in defected areas so as those strains do not lead to local plastic deformations and so the pipe is able to bear the same loads that were before defect formation. Calculated width and thickness of the sleeve after setting should be 30 and 12.7 cm respectively. Setting of the sleeve on a pipe takes no longer than 25 minutes. Adhesive layer dries very fast and repair operation may be thought to be finished in two hours after setting.
General purpose:
«BL-RT» compound is used for final pipeline repair to restore maximal operating pressure on defected or corrosion damaged
areas of a pipe. Application of this compound depends on an external pipe diameter, length of a defect, wall loss of a pipeline. No pressure limits applied. Maximal operating temperature
